From Chong-Kemin Valley to Issyk-Kul Lake

Detailed description

Chong-Kemin is one of Kyrgyzstan’s most beautiful and untouched natural destinations, where majestic mountains, dense forests, and pristine landscapes create a truly unforgettable atmosphere. The rocky peaks of Boom Gorge hide colorful shrubs and magnificent spruce forests, which cover the mountain slopes like a soft green velvet carpet. The nature of Kemin is rich in biodiversity and remarkable for its unique beauty. The region is home to various species of plants, including spruce, juniper, birch, maple, rowan, and many other alpine flora. The reserve was created to protect rare wildlife species, including pheasants and hares, as well as to preserve valuable natural resources. Chong-Kemin is also famous for its thermal and mineral springs, peaceful valleys, and breathtaking mountain scenery. The local landscapes offer visitors a perfect opportunity to experience the traditional culture of Kyrgyzstan and explore the natural wonders of the Central Tien Shan. The valley offers trekking routes for every level of experience — from easy walks along the Chong-Kemin River to challenging adventures across mountain passes above 3,000 meters. For those seeking excitement, white-water rafting has become a popular activity in the region. For a more peaceful and unforgettable experience, exploring the stunning landscapes of Chong-Kemin on horseback is an excellent choice.
